Happy thanksgiving!

Nov 21, 2025

As Thanksgiving approaches, I want you all to know how truly grateful I am for you. The ways you show up, encourage, support and rally around one another as community is nothing short of inspiring and my heart is strengthened. I am grateful for the ways our children remain beacons of truth, joy and light in the world. I am listening and learning from them daily.

In just over a couple of weeks, we’ll share that joy and light in our first concert of the season: “Holy One”. The workshop choir has just a few more songs to learn on Dec. 6th and the weekly groups have finally made it to the review phase so we’re coming along! As a reminder, I am asking ALL Lifted families to prioritize making it to our Full Concert Run-Through on Wednesday, December 10th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. For many of us, it will be our first time reviewing all the songs together as one group and build better anticipation for the day of the concert.

Soloists have been selected! You can view the list of soloists here. As always, I am available to support soloists in preparation for the concert. To set up a time to meet with me, please email liftedyouthgospelchoir@gmail.com.

Please take a moment to review the calendar at the bottom of the newsletter. There are important dates you don’t want to miss. If you’re interested in tracking our song progress to keep your young person(s) up to date with what they should be reviewing, please check out the progress document here!

Finally, There will be no choir rehearsal on Wednesday, November 26 for Thanksgiving Break. Crystal will offer a makeup session to anyone who wants to participate on Tuesday, November 25th from 5 to 6 PM. Please email liftedyouthgospelchoir@gmail.com if you plan to attend.

You are loved. You are worthy of love. You are excellence. This is your family.

CONCERT DETAILS

This year’s concert will be held at John Knox Presbyterian Church. We are grateful for their willingness to host us again. Here are a few details to keep in mind as you are planning for the day:

Call Time: 10:30 AM

Sound Check: 11 AM to Noon (A light lunch will be provided directly after.)

Concert Time: 1 PM - 2:30 PM (Doors open at 12:30 PM. Reception to follow.)

As the concert approaches, we’ll be looking for lots of volunteers. If you have not yet signed up for Safe Church Training with Michael, please email him at michaelwon@lbpc.org to arrange a time. All volunteers need to be trained through this process to ensure the safety of our young people. The training takes approximately 45 min and can be done in-person or virtually.

Finally, we have a need for volunteers to bake or purchase cookies for the cookie reception after the concert. If you are willing to help, please sign up HERE.
