Hey Lifted Family!
Happy Thursday! Hope you all are staying healthy and doing well!
From this point forward, we are going to be sending a quick weekly update email to summarize everything that we covered during Wednesday’s rehearsal for those of you who may not have been able to attend or just need a refresher on what happened. It will also be a great way to stay up-to-date on all the important happenings and point you towards resources that can help you practice at home.
This week, we covered two songs - "Lift Up Your Voices" and "Hark the Herald (Sing Out Loud)" - and the kids sound absolutely amazing! If you would like to practice at home, there is a playlist on Spotify titled ‘Lifted! Season Three Christmas Concert’ that has all of the songs we will be learning in the upcoming weeks. Additionally, there is a members only area of our brand new website – www.liftedcommunity.org - where you can link to the Spotify playlist, download PDF versions of the lyrics sheets, and view the season calendar. The password to the members only area is WeAreFamily (case-sensitive). A huge thank you to Bee Mattox for getting that up and running!
The other thing that we are excited to kick off is our Saturday Workshops which start this Saturday, October 7th from 1-4p!
These workshops provide an opportunity for people to participate in Lifted! that aren’t able to attend rehearsal weekly. Weekly attenders are not required to attend, but are welcome to come to the workshop if they would like more practice or if they have interest in becoming a section leader. Lunch will be provided and it will be a great opportunity to go in depth with the music and get to know other kids in the choir.
Future workshops will be held on the first Saturday of each month. You can reference the calendar posted in the members only area of the website for specific dates and times.
If you are planning on attending this coming Saturday, please RSVP directly to me via email so we can get a correct count for the lunch we will be providing.
Lastly, you all should have received an invitation from Kyle Fox (Brewer & Greyson’s dad) to join us next week after rehearsal for a quick check-in and info session on how to get more involved - especially as we prepare for our first concert of the year on Sunday, Dec. 10th. We’ll have extended snack and hang-out time for the choir while we meet. Feel free to join us - we’re powerful when we bring what we have to the table!
